The football flew out of Will Levis' right hand as the Kentucky quarterback toppled to the ground in his own end zone under the weight of Ole Miss defenders. He used his left hand to break the fall.

Levis was flagged for intentional grounding on the play, giving the Rebels a safety and a 16-6 lead over the Wildcats during the second quarter of Saturday's battle of unbeatens at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.

Getting back on his feet, the quarterback walked over to an official and showed him the middle finger of his left hand. The digit was definitely dislocated.

ESPN sideline reporter Molly McGrath said during the broadcast that members of Kentucky's athletic training staff tended to Levis' non-throwing hand on the sideline after the drive, popping the middle finger back into place and wrapping tape around it. The quarterback is also dealing with a left ankle and foot injury he sustained on the safety, according to McGrath.

Taking the field again with UK's offense, Levis didn't miss a beat. He led the Wildcats on a nine-play, 70-yard scoring drive capped off by a 5-yard touchdown catch by Tayvion Robinson.

Levis finished the first half completing 7 of his 10 pass attempts for 71 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice for a net loss of 19 yards.

Ole Miss went on to win Saturday's game 22-19. Levis completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 220 yards and two touchdowns, but two second-half fumbles proved costly in the Wildcats' first loss of the season.
