A KEEN DIY fan has shared how she created a simple tiled wall in minutes with minimum effort thanks to discovering a handy tip.
Leyla , who runs a home decor social media account called @livingwithley, revealed she had wanted an accent wall for a while, but had no idea how to tile.
Then she discovered a product called MusselBound - a white, double-sided adhesive mat that describes itself as a replacement for “messy and difficult to use mortar”.
Leyla shared a video of the wall makeover, including before and after snapshots, on her TikTok account.
First, she rolled out the MusselBound on the wall she wanted to tile, before peeling back the protective layer and getting to work.
The next step was to place her chosen tiles directly onto the sticky mat and press firmly down – and within minutes she had a fully tiled section.
Alongside the transformation clip she wrote: “POV: you really want a tile accent wall.
“While you have no idea how to actually tile a wall, you discover a super sticky adhesive tape for tiling and it actually works.”
She added: “You realise you tiled a wall, you did it girl.”
And it seems it’s not just a short term six, but a long term solution, as Leyla then told her followers it had been a great success.
Leyla wrote: “Exactly 0 tiles have fallen off so I’d call this a success #fyp #diyproject #tilingtips #homedecor.”
While others were quick to comment on her genius method and say it worked for them too.
One said: “We did our kitchen using that tape. Works perfectly. Been 4 years now, no issues whatsoever.”
A second commented: “I have used this on 2 different backsplashes. no issues yet. your makeover looks great.”
While others complimented her on the “amazing” outcome, and said things like: “Wooohoo! You go girl!”
